To begin with.. HAPPY DUSSEHRA!! :)

Inspired by nature & enchanted by history – it feels nostalgic every time I look at wonderful block prints that have been brought to us by the Indian craftsmen and artisans.

For centuries together, they have been creating some amazing floral patterns in vivid colors. And yes, it’s a weakness I have! When I look at such prints, I get obviously tempted. However, I always make sure that the one I buy is worth the money I invest in it.

During one of those searches for block prints, I tumbled upon this page on Facebook – Alaya The Storehouse (Link provided in Outfit details).

Specialising in Hand-blocked prints, this is one of those very few online sites that incorporate such prints in western outfits giving me the exact twist I needed. After browsing through their gallery and having my heart stuck on almost every print and style they designed, I decided to go for a simple rose printed maxi. [Since I had to be sure of the quality]

Now, their capes and twin-sets are on my wish-list.

This maxi is super feather-weight, elegantly classy when paired with chunky earrings and looks unique with its huge mandarins.

We decided to shoot this next to a banyan tree and use a lot of colors around to keep the whole feel of nature going. {We also stole a shot in front of God-knows-who’s apartment as we tip-toed to the front door 😀

I wore this maxi just as it is because I HAD to carry my red bucket bag which I got personalized. It feels so awesome to have something that has your name engraved in it with no additional charges. 😉

I did have an option of tying a belt around my waist line to accentuate it more but I didn’t at that point.

Respecting the entire traditional pattern, I wore my digital print floral jootis in red. They are again too comfortable & the best part is when you wear them on fully western outfits, they don’t look weird at all.. In fact, it stands out!

By adding a simple pair of earrings, few bangles, basic gold rings and letting my hair flow I completed the look.

This was another way of styling it with a brown belt and a high bun ‘cos guess what?? I have a new hair cut now.. FINALLY..YAYY!!!!!!
