Aunty : “Why haven’t you posted anything new?”

I (Thinking): “………. Umm yea!! It’s Diwali.. Sooooo…..ummmm…okkkk”

To be honest, I did not really have a post ready for Diwali. Yes, I understand that it’s every bloggers way of working and letting out new outfit posts, especially when its festival time, but I am not a big fan of celebrating Diwali with new clothes and bursting crackers.

Here I am a night before, jotting down my thoughts while I miss out on all the drama happening on Bigg Boss tonight.

Like they say: “Instead of burning phatakas, date a phataka.. Have an eco-friendly Diwali” HAHAHA!

Diwali for me is usually silent & boring (strictly NO CRACKERS for me). I prefer blingless outfit, keep it simple and elegant with as less jewelry as possible. But yeah, I wear few accessories, thanks to the persistent cajoling of my Mom!

It’s the whole idea of brightening up my house that puts a smile on my face! Hand painted diyas’ & all kinds of fragrance candles that my mom collects and loves displaying which I get to light only during Diwali 😀 & her brilliant Rangoli’s that I can barely attempt!

For this Diwali, I went for all trendy-cum-traditional look. With capes trending heavily at this point, I put on my Cape & Palazzo pant set I picked up from Mumbai. The detailing that attracted me towards this was the sheerness which enhances the waistline even more, mirror work done on the turtle neck and the kind of buttons it had at the back. So this time, the slit in my cape was nowhere in the front or sides – Instead it was behind which gave it a sexy finish. This cape can also be worn the other way around.

I wore my green kundan earrings to have some brightness to go with a kada (Bangle). Pairing it with bottle green heels, I let my hair down. For the Diwali meet & greet, I carried my skull clutch to give it that edginess.
