It’s Diwali this weekend and as always I’m late in deciding what I wanted to wear. Yes! Always been a last minute worker and well, proud of it a bit ‘cos my best comes out at the spur of the moment.

Where did I go? I visited Forum Vijaya Mall located in Vadapalani, a one stop-shopping destination for our complete looks.

Just as every year, with immense card parties and Diwali hostings happening around, this year has been a bit tougher for me to juggle between work and social gatherings.

The thought over dressing for Indian festivities was once quite orthodox with ethnic clothing. With changing times & trends, I decided to mix it up with some formal wear, keeping up the reserved clothing yet ceremonial.

Don’t a lot of us face the issue of having to take additional pains to go all over with the dresses, make-up and hair? Here are the looks I’ve created with Marks & Spencer. I’m sure you could relate to at least one of these personalities.

Look 1 – Midi-ed with jersey, victorian choker and brown heels. You could always opt for brighter shades in footwear.

Look 2 – A simple peasant blouse topped with a stole in earthy shades and cropped pants. If you feel more feminine, try florals or add a waist belt for additional dimension.

Look 3 – Keeping it informal with a pleated victorian denim shirt over loud florals and straight pants.

Look 4 – A flaming red shirt, tasseled neckpieces and cropped pants.

Look 5 – All-time love of a white silk blouse with frilly V-neckline, choker and straight pants.

Of course, you never finish a trip to the mall without Fast FOOOOOD! I had mine at Quiznos, a joint especially known for its toasted submarine sandwiches. Don’t forget to try them out only at The Forum Vijaya Mall, Vadapalani.
